Following the assault on non-Marathi speakers in Mumbai, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey challenged Raj Thackeray to come to Bihar. In response, Aditya Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray accused the BJP of being anti-Maharashtra.
Maharashtra Politics: The language dispute has been intensifying in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra, for the past few days. Especially after some incidents of assault on Hindi-speaking people came to light, the political landscape has taken a new turn. Videos going viral on social media allege that MNS workers mistreated and assaulted those who didn't speak Marathi. Following this, a political uproar has erupted on this issue.
BJP MP Nishikant Dubey's Challenge
Reacting to the controversy, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey targeted MNS chief Raj Thackeray. In a sharp statement, he said that if Raj Thackeray has the courage, he should come to Bihar. He said, "He will be beaten to a pulp. Even a dog is a lion in its own home." Targeting Hindi-speaking people is inappropriate. He alleged that the entire country, especially North India, has contributed to Maharashtra's progress, and in such a situation, any rhetoric against Hindi speakers will not be tolerated.
Aditya Thackeray Calls BJP Anti-Maharashtra
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray bly responded to the BJP MP's statement. He said that this reflects the BJP's anti-Maharashtra mindset. Speaking to the media, Aditya Thackeray said, "We have appealed to everyone not to react to this kind of dirty politics of BJP leaders. They want to spread fear and instability in Maharashtra. We will not tolerate this at all."
He added that the BJP's policy of 'divide and rule' is now outdated and the public has started to understand these tactics. Thackeray said that the BJP MP's thinking reflects the entire party's thinking, not that of all of North India.
Uddhav Thackeray also enters the fray
Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray also came forward on the language dispute. He said, "We are not against the Hindi language, but it is extremely shameful for BJP leaders to compare Marathi people with terrorists. These are the same people who hurt the soul of Marathi people." Uddhav Thackeray also said that those who do injustice to Marathi people in Maharashtra are the real anti-Marathis. He questioned that if the BJP is truly a well-wisher of Hindus, then why can't it protect Marathi Hindus?
Nishikant Dubey's Allegation
Even after his initial statement, Nishikant Dubey did not back down. Questioning the MNS and Shiv Sena, he asked whose bread they were eating. He said that the first factories of Tata, Birla, and Reliance were established in Bihar. People from outside have made a significant contribution to the progress of Maharashtra. He also asked which industry in Maharashtra pays local taxes. The BJP MP said, "All the mines are in Jharkhand, Bihar, or other states. Maharashtra's industry is dependent on foreign investment. Those who are targeting us are surviving on our contribution."
