The MahaYuti alliance recorded a victory in the district council and panchayat samiti elections in Maharashtra, securing its third consecutive win in local self-government polls after earlier successes in municipal councils–municipal panchayats and municipal corporations.
Reacting to the results, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde said the outcome reflected public trust in the alliance. He said meeting voter expectations would be the government’s top priority and stated that development work at the grassroots level would be accelerated so that benefits of government schemes reach citizens.
Shinde said the mandate endorsed the policies and functioning of the MahaYuti government. He stated that over the past three years the government had taken steps in sectors including education, health, roads, drinking water, irrigation and women’s empowerment, and that the impact of these measures was now visible.
Referring to the election outcome, Shinde said the results indicated that the support base of Shiv Sena and the MahaYuti alliance had strengthened in rural areas. He specifically mentioned Raigad and Ratnagiri districts, saying voters in the Konkan region had conveyed their support for what he described as the “true Shiv Sena”.

Recalling Shiv Sena founder Balasaheb Thackeray, Shinde said the objective of expanding the party’s presence across villages was being realised. He thanked women voters, whom he referred to as “Ladli Bahinen”, and said their support contributed to the result.
Shinde said the MahaYuti government had focused not only on financial assistance to gram panchayats but also on strengthening administrative capacity. He said work had been undertaken to improve rural infrastructure, address farmers’ issues, enhance water management, expand road networks and improve education.
He said new schemes had been introduced to promote women’s self-reliance, create employment opportunities for youth and provide better resources for farmers, adding that these initiatives were reflected in the election outcome.
The deputy chief minister attributed the victory to the efforts of party workers, saying they engaged with voters at the village level and conveyed public concerns to the government. He said district councils and panchayat samitis would be used to further accelerate rural development, and that policy decisions would be taken keeping in mind the interests of farmers, women, youth and citizens, with development schemes implemented transparently.
