Mahindra & Mahindra is set to launch its most trusted SUV, the Bolero, in a new avatar. This time, the Bolero's look, interior, and features will all appear completely changed. According to reports, the company may unveil the new model on August 15, 2025. Some sources indicate that its market launch could be in early 2026.
The Bolero has always been popular in India, especially in rural areas. Its robustness, low-cost maintenance, and durable engine have made it a reliable vehicle for a long time. Now that it is returning with a new identity, it is expected to dominate the market once again.
Major Design Changes
The new Bolero's look is about to change completely. It will arrive not as a facelift model, but as a new generation SUV. Its exterior will feature a new front grille, a larger Mahindra logo, and a redesigned headlamp setup. The side profile and rear design will also appear sharper and bolder than before.
The new Bolero's look will be given a more urban and premium touch this time to attract buyers from both urban and rural areas. After the Scorpio and Thar, the Bolero has also been prepared with the new Mahindra design language.
An Entirely New Cabin
A major change will be seen in the Bolero's interior. Now its cabin will be more premium and advanced. The dashboard will feature better plastic quality, soft-touch materials, and a new flat-bottom steering wheel. In addition, the instrument cluster will also get a digital look.
The new Bolero may be given a large touchscreen infotainment unit of up to 10 inches, which will feature wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Along with this, features like a multi-function steering wheel, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents may also be added.
A Long List of Features
The new Bolero is not going to lag behind in terms of features either. It is expected to get an Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS), which will include technologies like Lane Keep Assist, Auto Emergency Braking, and Blind Spot Detection.
In addition, modern features like an electric sunroof, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, digital driver display, and push start/stop button may be included. In terms of safety, basic safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, and a camera will be available.
Changes in Engine and Performance Too
The new Bolero will be launched this time with the mHawk series diesel engine. This engine may be of 2.2 liters capacity, which will be capable of delivering b torque and power. It can be launched with a 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox.
The biggest thing is that now for the first time, the Bolero may also be given a four-wheel drive (4WD) system. With this, it will not only be capable in off-roading, but will also be able to challenge vehicles like the Thar. Also, it will emerge as an affordable SUV compared to the Scorpio.
How Much Might It Cost?
Talking about the price, Mahindra may launch the new Bolero between ₹10 lakh to ₹14 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price, this SUV will target those customers who cannot fit into the budget of the Thar or Scorpio, but want a powerful and stylish SUV.
This SUV can give tough competition to vehicles like the Tata Punch EV, Maruti Fronx, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite. Especially with the 4WD option, this vehicle will be considered ideal for rural and hilly areas.
