Special worship will also be held in temples

In this sacred month of Sawan, special worship is performed in Shiva temples and Devi temples across the country. Especially on Tuesdays, women go to temples to worship Goddess Gauri and observe the fast according to the rituals. In many places, collective storytelling sessions are also organized.

Why Tuesday is special in Sawan

Scriptures say that each day of Sawan is dedicated to a particular deity. While Monday is the day of Lord Shiva, Tuesday is dedicated to Goddess Parvati, also known as Gauri. Observing the fast and performing worship on this day yields special results.

Women observing the fast believe that by worshipping Goddess Gauri on this day, not only does their husband's life increase, but they also receive the blessings of children, good fortune, and peace.
