Maruti Suzuki Victoris and Tata Sierra EV are set to enter the Indian market soon to compete with the Hyundai Creta. The Victoris will be launched before this Diwali, while the Sierra EV will be available for sale in October-November 2025. Both SUVs will be offered with new designs, technologies, and powertrain options.

Maruti Victoris: Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors are making significant moves to challenge Hyundai Creta's dominance in the mid-size SUV segment. The Maruti Victoris will be launched before Diwali, featuring six trim variants and advanced features like Level-2 ADAS, a Dolby Atmos system, and three engine options. Meanwhile, the Tata Sierra EV will make a comeback in India with an electric powertrain in the next 2-3 months, including high-tech amenities such as a panoramic sunroof, a 360° camera, and Level-2 ADAS.

Maruti Victoris: A Powerful Debut for the New SUV

Maruti Suzuki's Victoris is likely to be launched in the market just before this Diwali. This SUV will be available in a total of six trim variants: LXI, VXI, ZXI, ZXI (O), ZXI+, and ZXI+ (O). It will be sold through Maruti Arena dealerships. Customers interested in purchasing it can book it for just ₹11,000.

The Victoris will offer three engine options. The first is a 1.5-liter mild-hybrid petrol engine producing 103 bhp. The second is a 1.5-liter b-hybrid engine with a power output of 116 bhp. The third is a 1.5-liter petrol CNG engine, delivering 89 bhp.

Features of Maruti Victoris

The Victoris is Maruti's first car to incorporate features like Level 2 ADAS, a Dolby Atmos audio system, and an underbody CNG tank. Additionally, it will come with several advanced features for driving and safety. The design of this SUV is attractive and ergonomic, ensuring comfort even on long drives.

Tata Sierra EV: A New Beginning in the Indian Market

The Tata Sierra EV is all set to make its return to India within the next 2-3 months. This SUV will be launched with a fully electric powertrain. An ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) model is also expected to hit the market in early 2026. The Sierra EV will feature Tata's new design language and a technology-equipped interior.

Powertrain Options for Tata Sierra EV

The electric version of the Sierra EV will utilize the powertrain from the Harrier EV. It will be equipped with two battery pack options and an AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system. The ICE-based Sierra will offer a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol and a 2.0L diesel engine. Later, a 1.5L turbocharged petrol engine will also be introduced.

Features to be Offered in Tata Sierra EV

The Sierra EV will come with advanced features such as a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, ventilated and powered front seats, a built-in dashcam, and Level-2 ADAS. Furthermore, the car will include numerous comfort and safety features, positioning it competitively in the top price category of the SUV segment.

Competition in the SUV Segment

The Creta has long maintained a b position in the mid-size SUV segment. However, the entry of new SUVs like the Maruti Victoris and Tata Sierra EV is set to intensify the competition in this segment. Both the hybrid and CNG options of the Victoris and the electric technology of the Sierra EV will present attractive choices for customers.

Specifically, the electric version of the Tata Sierra EV is technically quite modern and can appeal to environmentally conscious customers. On the other hand, Maruti Victoris's hybrid technology will be suitable for long drives and fuel efficiency.

Launch Date and Sales

The Maruti Victoris will be launched just before Diwali, while the Tata Sierra EV will be available in the market in October or November 2025. Both SUVs are poised to offer b competition to the Creta in the mid-size SUV segment.
