Microsoft has announced that the Outlook Lite app will be fully discontinued after 25 May 2026, requiring Android users to transition to the main Outlook Mobile app.
The company said the move is part of its strategy to consolidate its email services into a single platform with enhanced features and improved security. The change will apply globally to all users currently relying on the lightweight email application.
Microsoft had previously indicated that Outlook Lite would be phased out. The process began in 2025 with its removal from the Google Play Store, and new downloads were discontinued from October 2025. The full shutdown will be completed by 2026.
The company stated that it is focusing on developing a unified platform that offers more features and ber security. As part of this shift, users are being directed to migrate to the main Outlook Mobile application.
According to reports, after 25 May 2026, the Outlook Lite app may still open, but most of its features will not function. Users will not be able to access their mailbox, navigation tools, or other essential options.
However, Microsoft confirmed that no user data will be deleted as a result of this transition. Emails, calendars, and attachments will remain सुरक्षित and will be accessible after logging into the new Outlook Mobile app.
Microsoft has provided an in-app upgrade option to facilitate the transition. Users can use this feature to directly access the Play Store and download the Outlook Mobile app.
Alternatively, users can manually install the new app from the Play Store and log in with their existing accounts to regain access to all their data.
