Mirzapur village witnessed a commotion on Tuesday when a married woman was caught in a compromising situation with her lover in a room. Family members, suspecting illicit activity, searched the room and found the man present inside. News of the incident quickly spread, and villagers gathered at the scene.
As the matter escalated, villagers apprehended the man and immediately convened a village council (panchayat) to decide on the situation. The man was subjected to intense questioning during the panchayat. Some individuals demanded punishment for him. The panchayat proposed a punishment of flogging with shoes, but the man refused to accept what he considered a humiliating sentence.
Meanwhile, the woman vehemently denied having a romantic relationship before the panchayat, claiming her innocence. However, a heated argument ensued between family members and relatives, creating a tense atmosphere.
Following the incident, the entire village was abuzz with discussion throughout the day. Efforts were made to resolve the family dispute at the panchayat level before it reached the police, although resentment remained among the villagers regarding the matter.
