Political Tensions Rise in Mohali: Akali Dal Leaders Detained Before Majithia's Court Appearance

Major Uproar in Mohali Before Bikram Majithia's Court Appearance. Shiromani Akali Dal Chief Sukhbir Badal and Several Leaders Detained by Police. Accusations of Kejriwal Government Taking Over Punjab.

Punjab News: A major political development has unfolded in Mohali before Majithia's court appearance. Several senior leaders of the Shiromani Akali Dal, including party president Sukhbir Singh Badal, have been taken into custody by the police.

On June 25th, the Vigilance Department arrested Bikram Singh Majithia, a senior leader of the Shiromani Akali Dal, in a case of disproportionate assets. Following this, he was presented before a special court in Mohali on June 26th, where the court remanded Majithia to seven days of police custody. The remand period ended on Tuesday, and today, Wednesday, he was presented in court again.

On the day of Majithia's appearance, Akali Dal leaders were preparing to reach the Mohali court. However, before they could arrive, Punjab Police detained several leaders, including party president Sukhbir Singh Badal. The detention took place when Sukhbir Badal was en route to Gurdwara Amb Sahib in Mohali.

Sukhbir Badal's Direct Attack on Kejriwal

After being taken into custody by the police, Sukhbir Badal made serious accusations against the Aam Aadmi Party and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He said that Kejriwal has taken over Punjab and that the Shiromani Akali Dal will now liberate the state from his influence.

Badal alleged that the Kejriwal government wants to seize 40,000 acres of land in Punjab through a land pooling scheme. He also stated that Rs 10,000 crore would be recovered through this scheme to establish the Aam Aadmi Party at the national level.

"Delhi Has Slipped Away, Now Kejriwal's Eye is on Punjab"

Sukhbir Singh Badal said that Kejriwal's party is now solely focused on Punjab because its grip on Delhi has weakened. He claimed that Kejriwal and his team are considering Punjab as their economic source and are exploiting the state's resources for this reason.

Targeting Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann

Sukhbir Badal also targeted Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. He said that Mann has completely subordinated himself to Kejriwal and has sacrificed the interests of the state. Badal alleged that Mann agrees with every decision of Kejriwal just to save his own chair.

He said that the Chief Minister has betrayed the people of Punjab and that the time has come for the Akali Dal to oppose this situation and free the state from political interference.

Akali Dal's Protest

Calling Bikram Majithia's arrest a political conspiracy, the Shiromani Akali Dal has intensified protests across the state. Party leaders say that this action was taken solely out of revenge. They have alleged that the Aam Aadmi Party is targeting its opponents and misusing government agencies. Party workers have staged protests at the Mohali court and several other places. However, Punjab Police were already alert and had deployed heavy security forces at several locations.
