The grand finale of MasterChef India Season 9 aired on Friday, 6 March on Sony Entertainment Television and the streaming platform SonyLIV, where brothers Ajinkya Gandhe and Vikram Gandhe from Nagpur, Maharashtra, were declared winners.
The Gandhe brothers secured the Season 9 trophy and a prize of ₹25 lakh for their performance in the final. Throughout the competition, they presented dishes combining traditional Indian flavours with modern presentation.
The final round concluded after a closely contested competition. Judges Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar and Kunal Kapur evaluated the finalists’ dishes based on taste, presentation and innovation.
The menu presented by the Gandhe brothers in the finale impressed the judges with its concept and flavours, helping them gain an advantage over other finalists.

Before reaching the finale, the brothers delivered b performances in several challenges. During the season they also received multiple “spoon taps”, a symbol used by judges to acknowledge b dishes.
After the result, congratulatory messages were shared on social media by supporters from Nagpur and across India.
Maharashtra Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari also congratulated the Gandhe brothers on social media, stating that their success was a matter of pride for the Gandhe family as well as for Nagpur and the state of Maharashtra.
MasterChef India Season 9 introduced a pair format in which contestants competed alongside family members, relatives or close associates.
The season began in January 2026 and challenged contestants to present Indian cuisine using modern and creative approaches.
Other finalist pairs included sisters Anju Pradhan and Manju Ojha, and the mother–daughter team of Chandana and Sai Shri Rachakonda.
