MCC and Seat Distribution

MCC is responsible for admission to 100% of the seats in all central medical colleges across the country. This includes AIIMS, JIPMER, and other central institutions. In addition, 15% of the All India Quota seats in state medical colleges are also filled through MCC counseling.
For the remaining 85% State Quota seats, the respective State Medical Councils conduct counseling at their own level.

Total Counseling Rounds

NEET UG 2025 counseling will be completed in 4 rounds:

  • Round 1 – The current phase, the result of which will be released soon.
  • Round 2 – For those who did not get a seat in the first round or want to upgrade.
  • Mop-up Round – For remaining vacant seats.
  • Stray Vacancy Round – To fill the seats remaining at the end.

Reasons for Delay in Result

Although the result was expected to come in 2 days as per the previous schedule, there may sometimes be delays due to technical and administrative reasons in the seat allotment process. MCC usually cross-verifies the seat matrix and candidate data before finalizing the result, which may increase the process time.

Important Tips for Students

  • Keep checking the MCC portal for updates regularly.
  • Keep documents and fees ready on time.
  • Do not wait for the last day to report.
  • If you do not get a seat in Round 1, you will have the opportunity to apply in Round 2 and the Mop-up Round.
