A road accident occurred on the Sahadatganj overbridge in Ayodhya after a speeding truck collided with a sanitation vehicle, leaving one person dead and three others injured.
According to eyewitnesses, the sanitation vehicle was engaged in work on the overbridge when the truck hit it from behind. The impact severely damaged the vehicle.
People present nearby reached the spot immediately after the accident and attempted to rescue the injured. Police and ambulance teams also arrived at the scene after receiving information about the incident.
Uttar Pradesh Police shifted the injured to a hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. The body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Local residents said the risk of accidents remains high on the overbridge due to speeding vehicles. They demanded ber traffic regulation and enhanced safety measures.
Preliminary investigation has identified overspeeding and negligence as possible causes of the accident. Police are searching for the truck driver.
