Patna: The violent clash between BJP and Congress workers in the capital city of Patna on Friday (August 29, 2025) has now reached the police. Rup Narayan Mehta, the Patna Metropolitan President of BJP, filed a complaint at the Patliputra police station, alleging that Congress workers, as part of a conspiracy, carried out a deadly attack. The police have initiated further action in the matter.
The application claimed that a peaceful march was being taken out from Kurji Hospital to the Congress headquarters. This march was in protest against objectionable remarks made by Congress leaders about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's mother.
Workers Injured in Congress-BJP Clash
According to Rup Narayan Mehta, upon reaching the Congress headquarters, 100 to 150 Congress workers attacked with sticks, clubs, bricks, and stones. Several BJP workers were injured in this attack, including Ravindra Yadav, Jitendra Singh, Mukesh Yadav, Rahul Rai, and Anil Sahni.
The injured have been admitted to Kurji Holy Family Hospital, where they are undergoing treatment. The application demanded strict action against the culprits after their identification.
BJP Leaders Accuse Congress of Violence and Abuse
Nitish Naveen, MLA of Bankipur and Road Construction Minister of the Bihar government, stated, "This is democracy, not jungle raj. Crushing a peaceful protest after making hateful remarks about the country's Prime Minister and his mother is completely unacceptable."
Nitish Naveen further added, "Congress's politics has now become solely based on abuse, hooliganism, and stone-pelting. The insult of a mother will not be tolerated in Bihar, nor in the entire country." He also appealed to the public to remain vigilant to protect democratic values.
Police and Administration Increase Security
Based on the complaint filed at the Patliputra police station, an FIR has been registered, and the investigation process has begun. The police have increased surveillance in the area and have assured that legal action will be taken against all identified culprits.
