Patna Protest: Candidates Demand STET, BTET, and Librarian Exam Dates

Thousands of Candidates Protest in Patna Demanding Announcement of STET, BTET, and Librarian Exam Dates. Demonstrators Block Dak Bungalow Chowk, Disrupting Traffic, and Police Attempt to Intervene.

Patna: Candidates staged a vigorous protest in Patna demanding the announcement of the STET, BTET, and Librarian exam dates. Thousands of students marched from Patna College to Dak Bungalow Chowk and blocked the road. Police attempted to stop them, but the situation remained tense.

Candidates' Anger Erupts in Patna

Once again, candidates' anger regarding the STET, BTET, and Librarian exams was visible on the streets of Bihar. Thousands of students took out a procession from Patna College and reached JP Golambar Gandhi Maidan, chanting slogans against the government. Police tried to stop them here, but the candidates continued to move forward. After this, they reached Dak Bungalow Chowk and completely blocked the road.

Waiting for Exam Dates for Months

The candidates say that they have been waiting for a long time for the announcement of the STET exam date. They allege that the government gives assurances several times but postpones the exam every time. The students say that not conducting STET before the TRE-4 exam is a direct betrayal to them. This is the reason why they have been forced to take to the streets.

Dak Bungalow Chowk Becomes Center of Protest

The protesters left JP Golambar and reached Dak Bungalow Chowk, where they started chanting slogans while sitting on the road. Gradually, this area was completely blocked, and traffic was severely affected. Being one of the busiest areas of the capital, the general public had to face a lot of trouble.

Insistence on Meeting the Chief Minister

The protesters clearly said that they would only present their case after meeting the Chief Minister. The students are demanding that the government immediately announce the exam date and maintain transparency in the recruitment process. Many students said that their age is running out and their future is becoming bleak due to repeated postponements of the exam.

Police's Strict Preparation

In view of the protest, the police and administration were already on alert. Heavy police force was deployed in Dak Bungalow Chowk and surrounding areas. The police stopped the candidates from moving forward and tried to reason with them. However, the students refused to give up their insistence.

Situation Had Flared Up Last Time Too

This is not the first time that candidates have staged such a protest. Last time, when the students started moving towards the Chief Minister's residence, the police stopped them at JP Golambar. During that time, the situation deteriorated after an attempt to break the barricading, and the police had to resort to lathi charge. This time the administration is fully alert so that such a situation does not arise again.

Questions on Government's Silence

The biggest allegation of the candidates is that the government has not yet clarified the situation regarding the exam. They say that announcements are made repeatedly, but neither the exam date is fixed nor the recruitment process moves forward. The students say that this is like testing their patience.

Questions on the Education System

Exams like STET and BTET are linked to the future of thousands of youths in Bihar. These exams are necessary not only for jobs but also for determining the quality of the education system. The candidates believe that the postponement of the exam is not only affecting their careers but also impacting the state's education system.
