Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to Gujarat today, Saturday, to celebrate 'Janajatiya Gaurav Divas' (Tribal Pride Day) and participate in the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. During his visit, he will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects worth over Rs 9,700 crore in Narmada district.
Gujarat: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, Saturday, visited Gujarat's Narmada district to celebrate 'Janajatiya Gaurav Divas' and participate in the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda. During this visit, the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multi-sectoral development projects worth over Rs 9,700 crore.
The main objective of Prime Minister Modi's visit is to promote tribal welfare, education, health, infrastructure, and cultural heritage. At approximately 12:45 PM, the Prime Minister offered prayers at Devmogra Temple and then participated in a public event at Dediapada at 2:45 PM. Here, he launched several important projects and addressed a public gathering.
Inauguration and Foundation Stone Laying of Key Projects

On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi announced several large-scale projects of collective importance, including:
- 'Grih Pravesh' (housewarming ceremony) for 1 lakh new homes under PM-JANMAN and DA-Jagua schemes — this scheme is a significant step towards empowering tribal communities and improving their living facilities.
- Inauguration of 42 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) at a total cost of approximately Rs 1,900 crore. The aim of these schools is to provide quality education to tribal students.
- Foundation stone laid for 50 new Eklavya Model Schools, with an estimated cost of Rs 2,320 crore.
- Flagging off 250 new buses for operation in tribal districts, which will improve connectivity in these areas.
- Foundation stone laid for 748 kilometers of new roads and 14 Tribal Multi-Marketing Centers (TMMCs), which will strengthen local trade and the rural economy.
- Inauguration of a Centre of Excellence at the Medical College in Dibrugarh, Assam, and the Tribal Research Institute in Imphal, Manipur.
The objective of these projects is not only to expand basic facilities but also to ensure the social, educational, and cultural development of tribal communities.
Review of Bullet Train Project
Prime Minister Modi also inspected the ongoing construction of the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) Corridor in Surat. This project is one of India's most ambitious infrastructure projects, poised to boost the country's economic and social development through high-speed connectivity. The total length of the MAHSR corridor is 508 kilometers, with 352 kilometers located in Gujarat and Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and 156 kilometers in Maharashtra. This rail corridor connects major cities like Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Vapi, and Mumbai.
Prime Minister Modi will release the 21st installment of the PM-KISAN scheme on November 19. This scheme provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 annually to millions of farmers across the country. Launched on February 24, 2019, the scheme has so far disbursed over Rs 3.70 lakh crore to more than 11 crore farmer families. The objective of the scheme is to help farmers with expenses related to farming, education, health, and other needs.
