This scheme will promote natural farming on 7.50 lakh hectares of land and increase the income of 1 crore farmers. Initially, farmers from Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu will benefit.

Under this mission, natural and sustainable farming will be promoted on 7.50 lakh hectares of land, which will improve the income of 1 crore farmers. The mission will operate under the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, and the initial benefits will be given to farmers in states where natural farming is already prevalent. The scheme includes facilities such as 10,000 bio-input resource centers, a simple certification system, a common market, and an online monitoring portal.
Which States' Farmers Will Benefit?
The initial phase of the National Mission on Natural Farming will be implemented in areas where natural farming is already practiced. For this, village panchayats have been divided into 15,000 clusters. Farmers from states like Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu will benefit from this scheme.
Under the mission, the focus will be on reducing the cost of farming for farmers and reducing dependence on chemical fertilizers. Initially, this scheme will run for two years, and after that, it will be extended further based on its success and budget.
Scientific Assistance in Natural Farming
The National Mission on Natural Farming will give farmers the opportunity to farm using scientific methods. Its aim is to enable farmers to grow healthy food while facing challenges like climate change. Under the mission, the government will establish 10,000 bio-input resource centers. Through these centers, natural fertilizers and other necessary agricultural materials will easily reach the farmers.
An easy and simple certification system will also be developed for farmers. This will make it easier for them to obtain certificates for their products. In addition, farmers will get help in branding and sales through a common market.
Digital Monitoring and Modern Technology
Under the mission, real-time geotagging and monitoring of farmers' produce will also be done. For this, an online portal will be created, which will allow farmers and officials to know the status of the produce. This step will not only boost production but will also give farmers information about market demand and prices.
This effort by the government is to connect farmers with modern technology and bring natural farming into the mainstream. Through this, the cost of farming will be reduced, and production will improve.
