Judicial Magistrate First Class, Western, Anjali Sinha, issued a notice on Wednesday to former Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav in connection with the repeated posting of content like "Bihar = Rape" on the X handle.

In Muzaffarpur, RJD chief and former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav has received a notice from the court regarding his alleged controversial social media posts. Judicial Magistrate First Class, Western, Anjali Sinha, issued the notice to Lalu Yadav on Wednesday, asking him to present his side. The next hearing in the case will be on September 24, 2025.
What is the matter?
The matter came to light when Sudhir Kumar Ojha, the state president of the Bharatiya Sarthak Party, filed a complaint against former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav in the Muzaffarpur court. The complaint alleges that Lalu Yadav repeatedly posted content like "Bihar = Rape" on the social media platform X. Ojha claims that Lalu Yadav intentionally made these posts to tarnish the image of Bihar and gain political advantage.
The petition states that on September 30, 2024, when Ojha was present near Gol Pokhar Chowk in Turkey for personal work, he saw the news on TV channels that Lalu Yadav's post was offensive to the people of Bihar and hurtful to society. It hurt the sentiments of millions of Biharis and condemned the state government.
Court Action
After hearing the case, Judicial Magistrate Anjali Sinha issued a notice to Lalu Prasad Yadav. The notice orders him to present his side and respond to the complaint. The court also stated that the next hearing in the case will be on September 24, 2025. During this time, Lalu Yadav will have the opportunity to justify himself and present his defense in the matter.
This is not the first time Sudhir Kumar Ojha has filed a complaint against Lalu Yadav. Previously, Ojha had also summoned him to court in connection with the matter of landing a helicopter on the road. Apart from this controversy, it is also worth noting that Lalu Prasad Yadav is already facing several corruption and other lawsuits, in some of which he has been sentenced.
Political analysts say that this post on social media could create a new controversy in Bihar politics and could also affect the upcoming elections.
