PM Modi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet with the all-party delegation that recently returned from abroad as part of Operation Sindhur at his official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, Delhi, this evening. The meeting is scheduled for 7:30 PM on Tuesday, June 10, 2025. Significantly, all delegation members are required to undergo a COVID-19 test prior to the meeting as a precautionary measure. During this meeting, the parliamentarians will share their experiences from their foreign visits and the global response received with the PM. The PM will also host a dinner for all the parliamentarians.
Operation Sindhur: What is this Mission?
Operation Sindhur is the name given to India's military operation launched on May 7, 2025, in response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, 2025, which claimed 26 lives. The Indian Army conducted targeted strikes on terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). This operation resulted in the elimination of over 100 terrorists belonging to groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Following this, India deployed seven all-party delegations to 33 countries to convey its perspective to the global community. Their objective was to expose Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and highlight India's zero-tolerance policy.
COVID Test: Why is it Mandatory?
Given the rising number of COVID-19 cases, the government is taking no chances. Sources indicate that a COVID test is mandatory for all delegation members before attending the meeting. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of the PM and the parliamentarians. With 1,134 new COVID cases reported recently in India, and active cases reaching 7,026, this measure is deemed necessary.
