He stated that through Rozgar Melas, the government is promoting a transparent and merit-based recruitment process.
Opportunities for Lakhs of Youth Through Rozgar Mela
PM Modi said that lakhs of youths have received permanent government jobs through the Rozgar Melas conducted by the Government of India. The main objective of this initiative is to provide employment to qualified candidates without any recommendations or expenses. The Prime Minister described this as part of the 'New India' vision.
National Service as Paramount
Addressing the youths who received appointment letters, the Prime Minister said that serving the nation should be the foremost priority. He stated that regardless of the department or the nature of work, the goal should be one – national service. He urged the new employees to perform their duties honestly and to remain dedicated to serving the citizens.
Responsibilities Entrusted to the Youth
PM Modi mentioned that the youths who received appointment letters this time will begin their services in the Indian Railways, the Department of Posts, security forces, and other government institutions. The youths joining the railways will strengthen the country's lifeline. Employees appointed in the postal department will play a vital role in delivering government schemes to every village. Meanwhile, the youths appointed to the security forces will bear the responsibility of defending the nation.
Experience of Foreign Visits and India's Youth Power
Prime Minister Modi also mentioned his recent five-nation visit. He said that the echo of India's youth power was heard in every country. He stated that agreements in sectors like defense, pharma, digital technology, and rare earth minerals will create new employment opportunities for the youth of the country. India's growing reputation and partnerships at the international level will provide a global platform for the youth.
Financial Assistance of ₹15,000 on First Job
PM Modi also announced a new government scheme at the Rozgar Mela. He said that under the 'Employment Linked Incentive Scheme,' youths who secure their first job in the private sector will receive financial assistance of ₹15,000 from the government. This assistance will be provided as their first salary. The government has allocated a budget of ₹1 lakh crore for this scheme, with the aim of assisting in the creation of approximately three and a half crore new jobs.
Government's Commitment: Transparent and Merit-Based Appointments
The Prime Minister, taking a dig at the opposition, said that 'no-bribe, no-influence' is our identity. He stated that in previous governments, there was a tendency for jobs to be secured through recommendations and money, which has now been eliminated. The entire selection process is now digital, transparent, and merit-based.
