Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving today for a visit to his parliamentary constituency, Varanasi. Ahead of his arrival, the district administration and police have made stringent security arrangements. The event venue and surrounding areas have been declared a no-fly zone. Furthermore, the security system has been further strengthened through CCTV cameras and drone surveillance.

Varanasi Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal conducted a detailed review of security preparations with police officers on Thursday, ensuring that there would be no room for any lapse during the Prime Minister's visit.

Event Venue to Remain Under Three-Tier Security Cordon

The Prime Minister Modi's event venue has been provided with a three-tier security cordon. This security cordon involves the deployment of police, PAC (Provincial Armed Constabulary), and paramilitary forces in the inner, middle, and outer perimeters. The Police Commissioner instructed officers that all security personnel must arrive at their respective duty points on time and ensure 100% adherence to protocol during VVIP movement. He emphasized that coordination among all units is essential to deal with any potential emergency.

During the Prime Minister's program, the entire area has been declared a no-fly zone. This means that no private or commercial drones will be allowed to fly in that area. Only drones approved by security agencies will be used for surveillance. Additionally, the number of CCTV cameras has been increased to continuously monitor the event venue, route, and surrounding sensitive areas. Real-time monitoring of every activity will be conducted through drones and CCTVs.

Traffic Diversion and Parking Arrangements

In view of the Prime Minister's visit, the traffic police have implemented diversions on several routes in Varanasi to ensure smooth traffic flow. No vehicles of any kind will be permitted to park on VVIP routes. Temporary parking areas have been created for the convenience of guests and general citizens. The administration has appealed to citizens to adhere to the traffic plan to prevent any congestion or traffic jams.

During the security review meeting, Police Commissioner Mohit Agarwal instructed all officers and personnel to maintain utmost vigilance. He stated that security personnel should be present at their updated duty points, in uniform, and with their identity cards. All security personnel were instructed to refrain from using mobile phones during duty and to perform their tasks with complete concentration. Security checks for female visitors will exclusively be conducted by female police officers.

Following the review meeting, all units conducted a security rehearsal (mock drill). Police officers, PAC, and paramilitary forces practiced in their respective areas to ensure an immediate response to any potential emergency.
