Prashant Kishor Pledges Crackdown on 100 Most Corrupt in Bihar, Vows to Seize Illicit Wealth

Corruption has now become a major problem in Bihar. However, Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor states that his party will take strict action against corrupt leaders and bureaucrats once it comes to power.

Patna: A new path for politics against corruption is being paved in Bihar. Prashant Kishor, founder of Jan Suraaj Party and political strategist, claimed on Wednesday that as soon as his government is formed, strict action will be taken against the 100 most corrupt leaders and bureaucrats in the state. He stated that within the first month, the illicit earnings of such leaders and bureaucrats would be seized and deposited into the state treasury.

In an interview, Kishor said, “We have resolved to free Bihar from land mafia, sand mining mafia, and other mafias. For this, we have made six promises, including abolishing the fake prohibition policy. Corrupt leaders and bureaucrats will be prosecuted, their illegal earnings will be confiscated, and they will be used for the development of Bihar, which has stalled due to their misguided policies.”

New Law for Identifying Corrupt Leaders

Prashant Kishor informed that within one month of forming the government, a new law will be implemented to identify the 100 most corrupt leaders and bureaucrats in the state. Kishor claims that this step will be his government's biggest initiative against corruption. He said, "I am fully confident that these people will be performing rituals (puja-paath) to prevent us from coming to power."

Kishor also made serious allegations against the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). He stated that corruption is rampant within the NDA, and many leaders continue to hold their positions despite being involved in serious cases. Citing the example of Samrat Choudhary, he said that Choudhary holds the post of Deputy Chief Minister despite being accused in a case involving the murder of seven people. He alleged that Choudhary evaded trial by presenting a fake certificate.

Furthermore, Kishor said that leaders of both BJP and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's JD(U) also face corruption charges. He stated that corruption is not limited to Lalu Prasad and his family but is pervasive throughout the entire political system.

6 Promises, A New Bihar

Prashant Kishor said that his party has made six major promises to bring development and transparency to Bihar. These include controlling land mafia, sand mining mafia, and other corrupt individuals, abolishing the fake prohibition policy, and establishing good governance in the state. He stated, "Seizing the illegal earnings of corrupt leaders and bureaucrats and investing them in development projects will be our priority. This is the right time to rectify policies that hinder the state's development."
