In Prayagraj's Naini area, the shop and warehouse of scrap dealer Shambhu Vanshkar were set on fire. This action is reportedly linked to his refusal to yield to extortion demands. It is alleged that after he refused to comply, miscreants sprayed pump oil and set the establishment ablaze around midnight.
The fire destroyed one “Magic” vehicle, three trolleys/trailers, and a large quantity of raw materials. Traders estimate losses running into lakhs of rupees.
The victim has filed a written complaint with the local police station, naming four neighbors. The fire department brought the blaze under control after approximately five hours of effort.
The Incident
The incident occurred in Kanshiram Colony, located in Uttari Lokpur within the Naini police station area.
The victim, Shambhu Vanshkar, is a scrap dealer.
It is alleged that some neighbors demanded money from him for extortion. When he refused to pay,
he was attacked around 12 AM on Tuesday night.
The accused allegedly set his shop-cum-warehouse on fire by dousing it with petrol.
Damage
In the fire, his one goods carrier (Magic vehicle) and approximately five three-wheeled trolleys/trailers were burnt to ashes.
He stated that goods worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed.
Four fire brigade vehicles brought the fire under control after approximately 5 hours of effort.
Police Action
Following the incident, Shambhu Vanshkar filed a police complaint naming four accused from the neighborhood.
A case has been registered, and the police are investigating the matter.
