Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Karnataka on Wednesday to participate in a series of religious, cultural, and social programmes. He is scheduled to arrive at HAL Airport in Bengaluru, where he will be received by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.
Following his arrival, the Prime Minister will travel to Sri Kshetra Adichunchanagiri in Mandya district to inaugurate the Sri Guru Bhairavaikya Temple. The event is scheduled to take place at approximately 11:30 am, during which he will also address a public gathering.
The temple has been constructed in memory of Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji, the 71st pontiff of the Adichunchanagiri Mutt. Built in traditional Dravidian architectural style, the temple is intended to honour his life, spiritual contributions, and service to society. Balagangadharanatha Mahaswamiji was recognised for his work in the fields of education, healthcare, and social welfare.
During the visit, the Prime Minister is also scheduled to participate in a book release programme alongside former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda. The event will mark the release of spiritual and cultural texts, including ‘Soundarya Lahari’ and ‘Shiva Mahimna Stotram’.
Prior to his Karnataka visit, the Prime Minister inaugurated a section of the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. The approximately 213-kilometre six-lane expressway has been constructed at a cost of around ₹12,000 crore. The project is expected to reduce travel time between Delhi and Dehradun from 5–6 hours to approximately 2–2.5 hours. It connects several cities in Uttar Pradesh, including Baghpat, Baraut, Shamli, and Saharanpur, strengthening regional connectivity.
