A convicted prisoner, Pastor Bajinder Singh, serving a life sentence in the Mansa jail of Punjab, had a mobile phone and cash recovered from him. This recovery is being considered a serious security lapse by the jail administration.
Mansaa: Pastor Bajinder Singh, who is currently serving a life sentence in the Mansa district jail of Punjab, has once again found himself embroiled in controversy. During a search of his cell within the jail, a smartphone and ₹2500 in cash were recovered from him, a man convicted of rape. Jail authorities and the police department are now trying to determine how this prohibited item reached a convicted prisoner despite the existing security arrangements.
Objectionable Items Found in Pastor Bajinder’s Cell
This startling recovery occurred during a sudden raid by AIG Jail Punjab Chandigarh, Rajiv Arora, and Assistant Jail Superintendent Anu Malik on the jail. The search was conducted in cell number 1 of block number ‘K’, where Pastor Bajinder was housed. During the search, a touchscreen mobile phone and ₹2500 in cash were found in his possession. This recovery raises several questions:
- Could staff within the jail have been involved in supplying the mobile and money?
- Does it point to the existence of an organized gang within the jail?
- Are Pastor Bajinder still in contact with the outside world?
Police Have Registered a New Case
In response to this matter, the jail administration has immediately registered a new case at the Sadar Mansa police station. Based on a complaint filed by Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASI Om Prakash, under the Indian Penal Code and jail rules, a case has been registered. The FIR includes serious charges such as violation of jail manual, criminal conspiracy, and possession of prohibited items.
According to police sources, the investigation is now focused on how the mobile phone and cash reached Bajinder Singh and with the help of whom. Interviews with jail staff will also be initiated soon in this case.

Pastor Bajinder Singh presented himself as a “religious spokesperson” and “guru,” but several years ago, he was accused of rape by a woman. After a trial, the court sentenced him to life imprisonment. Pastor Bajinder has been embroiled in controversy for a long time. He has previously been accused of mentally and spiritually exploiting women.
