Challenging Geography Poses Difficulties

The rugged mountains, deep valleys, and dense forests make operations extremely challenging. Military-Trained Terrorists Involved
Sources suggest that the terrorists who carried out the attack were highly trained. One of them is believed to be Hashim Musa, a former Pakistani para-commando linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba. Intelligence inputs claim that these terrorists infiltrated India via the Samba-Kathua corridor two months prior and the attack was meticulously planned.
