Maharashtra: In Latur, Maharashtra, the Muslim Welfare Association has sent a Marathi translation of the Quran to state minister Nitesh Rane via post. This action was taken under the leadership of the association's Mufti Fazil. He clarified that the purpose of this effort is not to create conflict but to spread awareness.

Controversy Escalated by Nitesh Rane's Statements

Recently, Minister Nitesh Rane made some statements that became a cause for controversy. He suggested that the five daily Azaan prayers should be recited in Marathi. He also stated that guns are freely available in madrasas. Prior to this, he described all Muslims as "green snakes" in a statement. These remarks sparked outrage among the Muslim community.

Mufti Fazil's Response

While speaking to the media, Mufti Fazil said that a person's identity is revealed by their speech. He stated that a minister's status, thinking, and understanding are reflected in the types of statements they make. He said that reading the Quran-e-Pak helps a person understand true Islam, and perhaps such statements would not be made.

Mufti Fazil also said that Minister Rane is an educated person and comes from a distinguished political family. In such a situation, it is not expected of him to make statements that divide society. He urged that if leaders comment on any religion or culture, they should first gather in-depth information about it.

The Mufti said that anyone can read the Quran. It is not just a book for Muslims but a guide for humanity. He said that a person who reads the Quran does not spread hatred but promotes brotherhood in society. He expressed hope that Nitesh Rane's views will change when he reads this translation.
