After Raja Raghuvanshi's Murder, Family Reached Meghalaya and Performed Last Rites at the Spot Where Body Was Found. Now Family is Preparing to Get Bail of Accused Cancelled and for Sonam's Narco Test.
Raja Raghuvanshi Case: Following the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, his family traveled to Meghalaya and performed his last rites at the very location where his body was discovered. The family is now prepared to fight a legal battle for justice, planning to have the accused's bail revoked and demanding a narco test for Sonam.
Raja's Last Rites Performed at Murder Site
After the murder of Indore businessman Raja Raghuvanshi, his family reached Meghalaya and performed the rituals at the place where Raja's body was found. This location was the parking lot of the Wei Sawdong Waterfalls, where Raja and his wife Sonam had parked their rented scooter.
Raja's brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, stated that the family made this decision with prayers for peace of the soul and justice. Following this, they went towards the jungle where Raja's body was found in a ditch on June 2nd. The family reached Shillong on July 23rd and performed the last rites in Cherrapunji (Sohra) on July 24th with due ceremony.
Now Preparing for the Battle for Justice
Raja Raghuvanshi's family has now decided to initiate a legal battle for justice. They plan to appoint a local lawyer in Shillong to ensure a b advocacy in the case.
The family will challenge the bail of the three main accused: security guard Balveer, flat owner Lokendra Tomar, and property dealer Silom James. These three are accused of tampering with evidence and attempting to mislead the investigation.
Demand for Sonam's Narco Test
Raja's family has demanded that Sonam undergo a narco test. The family believes that the real truth behind the murder will only come to light when Sonam is interrogated using scientific methods. The family also states that they suspected Sonam's role in the entire matter from the beginning. Raja's death just nine days after the wedding, that too during a honeymoon trip, raises serious questions.
Sonam's Family's Legal Preparations
According to an NDTV report, Sonam's brother, Govind, has started searching for lawyers in Guwahati and Shillong. News is that they may soon apply to the court for Sonam's bail. However, there has been no official confirmation of this from Sonam's family. But it is clear that both sides now stand face to face on the path of law.
What is the Whole Matter?
Raja Raghuvanshi and Sonam got married on May 11, 2024. Nine days after the wedding, on May 20, the two left for a trip to Meghalaya. They had only taken a one-way ticket.
For the first three days, both were touring the tourist destinations of the North-East. But then suddenly their contact with the family was lost. There was no contact after May 23. The family informed the Meghalaya police, and the matter was initially registered as a missing person case.
On June 2, Raja's body was found in a deep ditch. Only then did the police consider it a case of murder and start the investigation. After this, several revelations came to light, including that there had been several disputes between Raja and Sonam in the past few days.
