Rajasthan Education Dept. Revises Order: Private Schools Can Hold Classes During Mid-Term Break with Parental Consent

The Rajasthan Education Department has granted permission to private schools to call students for classes with parental consent during the mid-term break (October 13-24). The holiday will remain unchanged for government schools.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan Education Department has modified its previous order to keep all schools closed during the mid-term break (October 13-24). Earlier, the order had warned of strict action against private schools that called students for classes during the holiday. However, the new order issued by the Directorate of Education, Bikaner, now allows private schools to conduct teaching with parental permission.

Education Department's Revised Order

Previously, the Education Department had issued a strict order stating that government and private schools would remain completely closed from October 13 to 24. Conducting classes in private schools was considered against the rules, and a warning of action was issued for violating the order.

However, the Directorate of Education, Bikaner, has now amended the order, clarifying that private schools can call students for teaching activities with parental permission. Facilities for exam preparation and revision have been provided during this period. The department stated that the amendment would apply only to private schools, and the holiday would continue for government schools.

Order Modified for Exam Preparation

In the revised order, the Education Department explained that considering the upcoming examinations, students' studies and preparation are crucial. The mid-term break is not as climatically unfavorable as summer or winter vacations. Therefore, if a private school calls students for classes with parental consent, no action will be taken against it.

Officials stated that this step has been taken keeping in mind the academic interests of the students, so that their preparation is not interrupted even during Diwali and the mid-term break.

School Holiday Calendar and Revised Order

The mid-term break will be from October 13 to October 24. Prior to this, October 12 was a Sunday holiday, and Diwali holidays commenced the following day. Schools will reopen normally from October 25.

The calendar for mid-term, summer, and winter breaks in schools is prepared in advance. The Education Department issues revised orders as needed from time to time. This time, the purpose of the amendment is stated to be to ensure the continuity of students' studies and exam preparation.

Order for Parents and Schools

The revised order ensures cooperation between private schools and parents. Now, with parental consent, children can come to school for revision and preparation. The Education Department clarified that this exemption is only for private schools and aims to streamline academic activities.

Officials also stated that during holidays, students should not only focus on studies but also participate in cultural values, cleanliness, and social activities. This balance is crucial for the holistic development of children.
