Rajasthan Government Hikes DA by 3%, Announces ₹6,774 Diwali Bonus for Employees

Ahead of Diwali, the Rajasthan government increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees by 3% to 58% and decided to give a bonus of Rs 6,774 to non-gazetted employees. This will provide relief to approximately 6 lakh employees and 4.40 lakh pensioners.

Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has announced a relief package for its employees and pensioners ahead of Diwali. Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari approved a bonus for non-gazetted employees and increased the Dearness Allowance (DA) by 3% to 58%. This move is expected to provide relief to approximately 6 lakh non-gazetted employees and 4.40 lakh pensioners across the state.

Rs 6,774 Bonus for Employees on Diwali

Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Diya Kumari stated that employees will receive a bonus of Rs 6,774 this Diwali. This amount will be directly transferred to their bank accounts. She added that the government always makes decisions in the interest of its employees, and this year's Diwali gesture aims to bring additional joy to them.

State employees and pensioners have lauded the government's decision. The Finance Minister clarified that this bonus will be provided to employees whose pay level is up to L-12 or grade pay is Rs 4800. As per rules, the maximum bonus amount is capped at Rs 7,000.

Bonus Distribution Method and Financial Impact

75% of the bonus amount will be disbursed in cash to employees, while the remaining 25% will be deposited into their GPF (General Provident Fund) accounts. This scheme will benefit not only government employees but also those working in Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads. This move will incur an additional financial burden of approximately Rs 500 crore on the state government.

Through this bonus, the government has attempted to motivate employees and acknowledge their hard work. There is a wave of joy among employee organizations regarding this decision, and it is being viewed as the government's sensitive approach towards its workforce.

Increase in Dearness Allowance (DA)

Ahead of this year's Diwali, the state government has increased the Dearness Allowance by 3% to 58%. Finance Minister Diya Kumari stated that this will boost the purchasing power of employees, enabling them to comfortably manage their festival preparations.

This increase in Dearness Allowance will result in an annual financial burden of Rs 1,230 crore on the state government. Despite this, the government deemed it an essential step in the interest of employees and prioritized their well-being.

Relief for Employees and Pensioners

The state government's decision has created an atmosphere of joy among employees and pensioners this Diwali. Finance Minister Diya Kumari assured that similar steps will be taken in the future to benefit employees. She stated that the government's endeavor is to ensure government employees receive their rights and benefits in a timely manner.
