Rajasthan: Convicted rapist Asaram has once again received relief from the court. The Rajasthan High Court has extended the interim bail of 86-year-old Asaram, who is serving a life sentence in Gujarat and Rajasthan, until August 29. This decision was taken considering his deteriorating health condition. The court has also ordered the formation of a panel of expert doctors in Ahmedabad for an in-depth examination of his health.

Relief Granted on Medical Grounds

Asaram's lawyer, Nishant Bora, presented his latest medical report in court, citing his serious health condition. Earlier, the Gujarat High Court had also extended his interim bail period until August 29 on the same medical grounds. The Rajasthan High Court, while hearing his appeal, also prioritized health reasons in making this decision.

Asaram is currently admitted to the ICU of Jupiter Hospital in Indore. Doctors at the hospital have described his condition as serious. The order of the Gujarat High Court mentioned that an abnormally high 'Troponin Level' was found in his blood, which is indicative of serious heart problems. According to doctors, his condition is extremely critical, hence the decision to extend his bail.

Asaram's Case Has Been Embroiled in Controversies

Judges Dinesh Mehta and Vineet Kumar Mathur of the Rajasthan High Court, while issuing the order in this case, said that a panel of expert doctors will be formed in a government hospital in Ahmedabad to examine Asaram's health. This panel will include two cardiologists and other doctors. This team will conduct a thorough investigation of his heart-related and other ailments and submit the report to the court.

Asaram's name has always been associated with controversies. He faced serious charges, including rape, for which he has been sentenced to life imprisonment by the courts of Gujarat and Rajasthan. The repeated demands for his bail on medical grounds in the courts and the hearing on it have remained a subject of social and political debate.

Considering his continuously deteriorating health condition, the courts are taking sympathetic decisions, but this case remains a center of emotional reaction and discussion in society. Many consider this decision against justice, while some justify it from a humanitarian perspective, considering his health.
