The total cost, encompassing both Part 1 and Part 2, will surpass ₹4000 crore.
Namit Malhotra further added that when they started this project, many people called him crazy because no project of this scale had ever been made in Indian cinema. "If I were to put it in dollars, it would be around $500 million," he said. This figure translates to over ₹4000 crore in Indian currency.
'Ramayana' is Being Made for the World
Namit Malhotra further stated that his aim is not just to make money but to present one of the greatest stories in the world in a grand manner. "Ramayana' is being made not just for India, but for the entire world. We want to make it as the greatest epic film in the world, so that when the world sees it, it recognizes the power and legacy of Indian cinema."
He also mentioned that if such a grand film were made in Hollywood, the budget would be much higher. "Even today, if someone in Hollywood were to make a film of this scale, the cost would be much more. I think I am making the biggest film for India at a lower cost."
