RCB Victory Parade: The Karnataka government has presented a report to the High Court regarding the stampede that occurred during RCB's victory parade. According to the report, RCB organized the event without police permission, resulting in the deaths of 11 people and injuries to over 50. The report also mentions Virat Kohli's social media posts. The court rejected the government's request to keep the report confidential.

Investigation Report on Stampede at RCB's Victory Parade Presented

In the case of the stampede during the victory parade of the IPL 2025 winning team, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the Karnataka government has presented an investigation report to the High Court. This report reveals several important details, including that RCB did not obtain the necessary permission from the police before organizing the parade.

Event Organized Without Permission

According to the state government's report, the RCB management informed the Bangalore police about the parade on June 3rd, but this was merely an intimation, not a formal request for legal permission. Under Karnataka regulations, it is mandatory to obtain permission at least seven days in advance for any public event.

RCB's Social Media Posts Become a Cause of Controversy

The government's report mentions RCB's social media posts, stating that RCB announced the parade on its official social media handle at 7:01 AM on June 4th without consulting the police. This post invited the public with free admission.

Shortly after, at 8:00 AM and then at 8:55 AM, RCB made another post that included a video of Virat Kohli. In this video, Kohli said that the team wanted to celebrate this victory with the people and fans of Bangalore.

Time and Location of the Victory Parade

RCB's parade was scheduled to take place from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, starting from Vidhana Soudha and ending at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Due to this sudden and unprepared announcement, thousands of people flocked to the streets. There was no clear system in place to control this crowd.

11 Deaths, 50 Injured

During the parade, a stampede broke out, resulting in the tragic deaths of 11 people and injuries to more than 50. The report clarifies that this accident could have been avoided if prior permission had been obtained for the event and if the police had been informed in advance.

Government Requested Confidentiality of Report, Court Refused

The state government requested the court to keep this report confidential, but the Karnataka High Court rejected this demand. The court stated that there was no legal basis for concealing such information and that the public has the right to know the truth.

Questioning Begins for RCB

Following the release of the report, questions have been raised about RCB's role. Did the team management not assess the potential danger of such a large crowd? Should adequate security arrangements not have been made, despite the presence of star players?

The report specifically mentions Virat Kohli's video in which he invited fans to join the parade. This clip was posted on RCB's Twitter/X account, which further increased the crowd.
