Reliance Industries Limited is preparing to list its telecom and digital unit, Jio Platforms Limited, on the stock market, with a draft initial public offering (IPO) filing expected as early as May.
For investors in the Indian stock market, May could be a key month as Reliance Industries Limited plans to move forward with the listing of Jio Platforms Limited. According to available information, the company may submit initial draft papers for the IPO in May. If the plan proceeds, the offering could become one of the largest IPOs in India’s history, drawing significant investor attention.
Jio Platforms has expanded rapidly in recent years across digital services and the telecom sector, contributing to a high company valuation.
Sources indicate that Reliance Industries had originally planned to submit IPO-related documents by the end of the March quarter. However, global economic uncertainties and geopolitical tensions, particularly developments involving Iran and the United States, led to market volatility and a revision of the timeline.
The company is now considering a May draft filing, indicating that the IPO may soon be presented to both Indian and global investors.
Experts state that the proposed Jio IPO could surpass all previous public offerings in India in terms of size and valuation. If completed as planned, it may become the largest IPO in the country’s history.
The Reliance Group has previously launched major IPOs, but this would be the first time in nearly two decades that a major digital business of the group is listed on the stock market.

Jio Platforms Limited has expanded its presence in India’s digital and telecom sectors by increasing internet access through affordable data services. Its operations extend beyond telecom to include digital services, applications, broadband, entertainment, and enterprise solutions.
To execute the IPO, the company has engaged several global and domestic financial institutions as advisors. Approximately 19 investment banks are involved, including:
Kotak Mahindra Capital
Morgan Stanley
JM Financial
Goldman Sachs
HSBC
Bank of America
Citigroup
Their participation reflects the scale and international scope of the proposed offering.
The Indian stock market has shown heightened interest in the potential IPO. Analysts indicate that the offering could increase market liquidity and strengthen foreign investor participation.
However, the company has not made any official announcement regarding the size, valuation, or final timeline of the IPO.
Global market conditions have also influenced the company’s strategy. Recent fluctuations in international markets and geopolitical tensions have affected investor sentiment, prompting the company to wait for more stable conditions to achieve favorable valuation and response.
