RJD Promises Increased Honorarium for Ambulance Staff, Overhauls to Healthcare and Education if Elected

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav stated that if his party forms the government, the honorarium for 102 ambulance personnel, doctors, and technicians will be increased. He promised improvements in education and healthcare systems and urged teachers to join in bringing about change.

Bihar Election 2025: On Sunday, the medical cell of the RJD organized a "Doctor Dialogue" program at Bapu Auditorium in Patna. During this event, Leader of the Opposition Tejashwi Yadav spoke extensively about the state of Bihar's healthcare system and its employees. He declared that if the RJD government comes to power in the upcoming assembly elections, the honorarium for 102 ambulance personnel, doctors, lab technicians, and physiotherapists will be the first priority for an increase.

Tejashwi pledged that the payment for the 102 ambulance service, which is currently ₹320, would be increased to ₹540 per call upon the formation of his government. Furthermore, there would be an annual increment in the honorarium aligned with the inflation rate.

Initiation of Public Health Cadre in the Previous Government

In his address, Tejashwi Yadav mentioned that during the 17 months his government was in power, they laid the foundation for a Public Health Cadre. The aim of this scheme was to provide government jobs to over 1.5 lakh young individuals.

Recruitment was planned for various medical positions under this cadre, including lab technicians, ANMs, GNMs, X-ray technicians, and others. However, the current government has reportedly taken no concrete steps in this regard.

Efforts for Improvement through Mission 60 and Mission Buniyad

Tejashwi stated that his government had initiated "Mission 60" and "Mission Buniyad" to reform the healthcare system. The objective was to ensure that every citizen of the state receives better medical facilities. If the public grants them another opportunity, these missions will be implemented on a large scale to revolutionize the health sector.

Mention of Raid at Purnea Medical College

Citing the example of the late-night raid at Purnea Medical College, Tejashwi Yadav highlighted the extremely poor condition of facilities there. He alleged that this situation is not unique to Purnea but is reflective of the dilapidated state of medical colleges in Patna and across the entire state.

Attack on the Education System as Well

Beyond healthcare, Tejashwi Yadav also criticized the government's handling of the education system. On Sunday, he unveiled "Vichariki Smarika 2025" at the RJD office and engaged in direct dialogue with teachers.

Tejashwi asserted that Bihar's education system has completely collapsed. He accused the government of tormenting both teachers and students, stating that this situation jeopardizes the future of the upcoming generations.

Appeal to Teachers and Students for Change

On this occasion, Tejashwi Yadav urged teachers to come forward and lead the change in Bihar. He emphasized that only the RJD can bring the education and healthcare systems back on track. "Vichariki" was edited and published by the RJD's teacher cell. The program was attended by Kumar Rai, the state president of the teacher cell, and several senior leaders.

Direct Accusation Against the Current Government

Tejashwi Yadav directly stated that the current government has not only damaged health and education but has also closed avenues for youth employment. He reiterated that the RJD government's vision is to ensure employment for every youth and provide better health and education facilities to every family.
