Police have made a second arrest in the case of the knife attack on Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. Tahseen, a friend of the accused Rajesh, has been arrested, revealing that the attack was meticulously planned as part of a conspiracy. Major changes have been made to the security arrangements, and the Chief Minister is safe.
New Delhi: Police have achieved a major breakthrough in the recent attack on Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. After apprehending the initial suspect, Rajesh, police have now also arrested his accomplice, Tahseen Syed. Tahseen has been brought from Rajkot to Delhi for questioning.
According to the police, Rajesh had conspired to attack the Chief Minister with a knife. However, due to heightened security vigilance, Rajesh was unable to carry out the attack and only managed to throw the knife. The Chief Minister is safe and sustained no serious injuries.
Conspiracy Behind Attack on CM Rekha Gupta Unveiled
The investigation revealed that Rajesh initially went to the Supreme Court, but turned back after observing the tight security there. He then proceeded to the CM's residence in Shalimar Bagh.
According to sources, Rajesh and Tahseen are both dog lovers and were in constant contact throughout the planning. Tahseen also sent money to help Rajesh. Rajesh stated that he would not spare anyone who came in his way. Police are currently searching for the knife and conducting identification in the Civil Lines area.
Changes in Security Arrangements After the Attack
Significant changes have been implemented in the Chief Minister's security apparatus following the attack. The Delhi Police have now been given full responsibility for the CM's security. The security cordon has been strengthened, and the number of security personnel has been increased.
Under this change, the CRPF has been relieved of its responsibility for the CM's security. According to the police, security vigilance will be increased to prevent any such attempts in the future.
CM Rekha Gupta's Statement on Public Hearings
Following the attack, CM Rekha Gupta shared her experience on social media, stating that challenges are a part of life, but her struggle for the interests of the people of Delhi will never cease.
She announced that public hearings will now be held not only at her residence but also in every constituency of Delhi. This step has been taken to increase accessibility to the public and to address people's issues promptly.
