Shreyas Iyer is set to make his return to international cricket with the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand. Prior to this, he is participating in the Vijay Hazare Trophy to regain match fitness.

Sports News: Indian cricket team's vice-captain Shreyas Iyer has made a remarkable return to the field after recovering from an injury. Before the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand, he has sent a b message with his bat in the prestigious domestic tournament, the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Captaining Mumbai, Shreyas Iyer played an explosive innings of 82 runs against Himachal Pradesh, proving his complete readiness for international cricket.

Strong Comeback After Injury

Shreyas Iyer sustained an injury while fielding during the Australia tour last year. Internal bleeding was detected during examination, and he had to be hospitalized. Due to this injury, he was ruled out of the ODI series against South Africa. However, he now appears to be fully fit and has been included in the Indian team for the ODI series against New Zealand.

The BCCI has clarified that he will only be given a place in the playing eleven after receiving final fitness clearance from the National Cricket Academy (BCCI Centre of Excellence).

Captain's Innings in Vijay Hazare Trophy

In this match played at the Jaipuria Vidyalaya Ground, Himachal Pradesh captain Mridul Pravin won the toss and decided to bowl first. Mumbai's start, however, was not particularly b. Yashasvi Jaiswal was dismissed for 21 runs, while Sarfaraz Khan also returned to the pavilion at a score of 55. After this, Shreyas Iyer took charge and shared a crucial 82-run partnership for the third wicket with young batsman Musheer Khan. Musheer Khan played a useful innings of 73 runs, but the real attraction of Mumbai's innings was Shreyas Iyer's batting.

Shreyas Iyer scored 82 runs off just 53 balls, with a strike rate of 154.72. Although he missed out on his century, his innings impressed both the spectators and the selectors. In this stormy innings, Iyer hit 10 fours and 3 sixes. Notably, he played shots with equal confidence against spin and fast bowlers.

This innings was the highest score for Mumbai in the match. The Mumbai team, batting first, put up a b score of 299 runs in the allotted 50 overs, with Iyer's innings playing a vital role.
