Strong Tremors in the Morning

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the earthquake occurred at 10:18 AM local time. The earthquake's depth was measured at approximately 10 kilometers, which is why the tremors were felt bly. Earthquakes at shallow depths generally cause more damage, creating an atmosphere of fear among the population.

Epicenter of the Earthquake

The JMA reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at 35.3 degrees north latitude and 133.2 degrees east longitude. This area falls within the Shimane prefecture. The tremors were not limited to Shimane but were also felt in surrounding areas. Many people reported that the ground shook violently for several seconds.

Continuous Aftershocks

Aftershocks following the main earthquake further increased people's anxiety. A 5.1 magnitude tremor was felt at approximately 10:28 AM local time. Just minutes later, at 10:37 AM, another tremor of magnitude 5.4 struck. These two tremors caused people to become even more frightened, and many families began to move to safer locations.

Injured People Hospitalized

The city of Matsue in Shimane prefecture has reported the most significant impact. Here, four people were injured in falls and other accidents during the earthquake. All the injured were immediately taken to the hospital. Fortunately, there are no reports of anyone being seriously injured. Authorities stated that the situation is being closely monitored.

Administration and Relief Agencies on Alert

Immediately after the earthquake, local administration, the fire department, and disaster management agencies went into alert mode. Inspections of buildings, roads, and bridges have begun. So far, there has been no official confirmation of any major damage or building collapses. However, officials have appealed to people to remain vigilant and avoid going outside unnecessarily.
