Sikar Police Intercept Arms Smuggling, Arrest History-Sheeter and Accomplice

Sikar Police in Rajasthan intercepted arms smuggling on a bus from Jaisalmer, arresting Sanjay, a history-sheeter from Khatushyamji police station, and Somdatt from Punjab; two pistols and five live cartridges were recovered.

Sikar: In a significant operation, the Sikar district police in Rajasthan have apprehended two criminals who had come from Jaisalmer to sell weapons. In a joint operation by the DST team and Sadar police station, two pistols and five live cartridges were recovered. One of the arrested individuals is Sanjay, a history-sheeter from the Khatushyamji police station, who has several cases registered against him for serious offenses such as murder and assault.

Attempt to Sell Weapons on Bus Foiled

According to police sources, the notorious criminal Somdatt from Punjab was coming to Sikar to sell weapons to his history-sheeter associate Sanjay. The police had prior information about the plan of the two accused traveling on a bus from Jaisalmer. DST in-charge Virendra Yadav set up a blockade on the Bikaner highway and stopped the bus. During the search, one pistol and two live cartridges were recovered from Somdatt's bag. This action thwarted the criminals' entire plan.

Sadar police station in-charge Indraj Marodiya stated that during interrogation, Sanjay confessed that he had come from Jaisalmer to sell the weapons. Following his arrest, the police raided a residency on Kanwarpura Road and apprehended him as well. A country-made pistol, three live cartridges, and two empty cartridges were recovered from his possession.

Sanjay's Criminal History and Gang Connections

The arrested Sanjay has serious charges registered against him at the Khatushyamji police station, including murder, assault, and illegal possession of weapons. There was also a reward of Rs 5,000 on him. According to the police, this case involving Sanjay and Somdatt is linked to a gang network operating in Punjab and Rajasthan. This arrest has aided the police in investigating the criminals' network.

DST in-charge Virendra Yadav revealed that preliminary investigations also indicated that Somdatt had recently been released on bail and was in dire need of money to pay his lawyer's fees. This was the reason he came to Sikar to sell weapons. The police are now interrogating both accused to identify their other associates and their gang network.

Police Tighten Grip on Punjab-Rajasthan Gang Network

Police officials believe that several more startling facts may emerge during the interrogation. The accused Somdatt and Sanjay have been involved in numerous serious crimes in various parts of Rajasthan. The police are taking this matter seriously and are working to tighten their grip on the entire Punjab-Rajasthan gang network.

Sadar police station in-charge Indraj Marodiya remarked that this arrest will help curb criminal activities in the region. The DST team and Sadar police station police jointly executed this operation successfully. Officials stated that further in-depth interrogation of both accused will be conducted in the coming days, and their other accomplices will also be identified.
