Police have registered an FIR against three individuals in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur following a court order in a case involving an alleged forged will used to claim property.
The case pertains to a local area in Sultanpur, where the complainant alleged that the accused prepared a forged will to usurp ancestral property. It was claimed that attempts were being made to take illegal possession of the property on the basis of the fabricated document.
According to the FIR, the accused allegedly conspired to create forged documents, including a will supported by fake signatures and related paperwork, to present it as genuine. Charges have been filed under sections related to forgery and fraud.
The complainant initially approached the local police, but after no substantial action was taken, moved the court. Taking note of the seriousness of the allegations, the court directed the police to register an FIR, following which a case was filed against the three named accused.
Police officials stated that an investigation has been initiated and the authenticity of the documents is being examined. Registration records and witnesses will also be scrutinised as part of the probe.
Legal experts stated that preparing a forged will constitutes a serious offence with provisions for strict punishment upon conviction. They added that forensic examination of documents plays an important role in such cases.
The incident has led to discussions in the area, with concerns being raised over the misuse of forged documents in property disputes. Police said the investigation is ongoing, and further action against the accused may follow.
