Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned from his post, leading to the fall of his government. Subsequently, former Chief Justice of Nepal, Sushila Karki, has been appointed as the interim Prime Minister. As a renowned judge and celebrated writer, Sushila Karki also received support from Gen-Z. The majority of members present in a meeting of over 5000 people agreed to her name.
During her tenure as a judge, Sushila Karki adopted a strict approach against corruption and terrorism, which is why she became the first choice for Gen-Z.
Nepal's New Government After Power Transition
Amidst the recent violence and political crisis in Nepal, former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned from his post. During this time, Sushila Karki's name emerged, and in a meeting of over 5000 representatives, she was unanimously elected as the interim Prime Minister.

Education from India and Early Life
Sushila Karki was born on June 7, 1952, in Shankarpur, Biratnagar, Nepal. She was the eldest daughter among seven siblings, and her father was a farmer by profession.
- Graduation: Bachelor's degree from Mahendra Morang Adarsh Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University in 1971.
- Postgraduate: Post-graduate degree in Political Science from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) in 1975.
- Law Studies: Completed law studies from Tribhuvan University in 1978.
Her career began with practicing law in Biratnagar.
Husband Hijacked a Plane
Sushila Karki is married to Durga Prasad Subedi, a leader of the Nepali Congress. The two met at Banaras Hindu University. Subedi's name is also associated with Nepal's political activities. In 1970, he was among the young revolutionaries of the Nepali Congress. At that time, the revolutionaries had to raise 30 lakh rupees to rebel against King Birendra Shah, for which Subedi hijacked a Royal Nepal Airlines aircraft. In 2018, he also wrote a book about this incident titled 'Biman Bidroha' (Plane Rebellion).
Judicial Career and Impeachment Motion
Sushila Karki built a long and respected career in the judiciary.
- 2007: Appointed Senior Advocate.
- 2009: First woman Chief Justice of Nepal's Supreme Court.
- 2016-2017: 24th Chief Justice and Acting Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.
However, in 2017, the Sher Bahadur Deuba government presented an impeachment motion against her, but it was withdrawn shortly thereafter due to public and judicial pressure. This incident established her as a judge who does not bow down to pressure from the government.
