Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has launched India’s first Oracle AI Data Platform Lab and Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Kolkata in partnership with Oracle Corporation, marking a new development in the company’s artificial intelligence initiatives.
The facility has been established at Delta Park Lords in Kolkata and is aimed at supporting digital transformation and AI adoption across enterprises.
The AI lab is designed to help large enterprises modernize their data systems, accelerate the adoption of artificial intelligence, and automate digital operations. According to TCS, the joint center will provide organizations with a technology foundation to support faster and more accurate data-driven decision-making.
The Oracle AI Data Platform Lab has been developed to address four key business challenges: fragmented and unstructured data systems, slow data processing and analytics, limitations in AI scalability, and inefficiencies in enterprise operations.
The center is built on the Oracle AI Data Platform and integrates Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Autonomous AI Database, and OCI Enterprise AI Solutions.
The platform is intended to enable enterprises to process large volumes of data and convert them into AI-driven insights. The system is designed to support the use of enterprise data for real-time business decision-making.
TCS stated that it already has more than 26,000 Oracle-skilled AI professionals in India. The company said this workforce will support customers in accelerating AI projects and expanding the implementation of AI engineering, data analytics, and automation across industries.
TCS also announced that the initiative will not remain limited to Kolkata. The company is working on plans to establish additional AI Data Labs and Centres of Excellence in four other major Indian cities over the next three years.
