Trump's Mediation Claim Sparks Political Firestorm in India: Congress Demands Explanation from PM Modi

US President Donald Trump has once again made a significant claim regarding mediation between India and Pakistan. In his statement, Trump said that a total of five fighter planes were shot down in the recent conflict between India and Pakistan.

New Delhi: After US President Donald Trump's claim of mediating between India and Pakistan, Indian politics has heated up. Following Trump's controversial statement, Congress has demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi provide a clear and concrete explanation on this matter in Parliament. Congress alleges, "Was the nation's honor compromised for a trade deal?"

Donald Trump recently claimed once again that he had stopped a war-like situation between India and Pakistan, during which a total of five fighter planes from both countries were shot down. However, Trump did not specify how many planes belonged to India and how many to Pakistan. Following Trump's statement, opposition parties, including Congress, have started raising questions.

Congress asks PM Modi - Was the Nation's Honor Compromised?

Congress has directly attacked the central government after Trump's claim. Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), said that just two days before the start of the monsoon session of Parliament, Donald Trump has once again launched a 'Trump Missile', and, as always, the same things are being repeated.

Jairam Ramesh wrote in his post - Former US President Trump said that the US stopped a war between India and Pakistan, both nuclear-armed countries. If the war had continued, there could have been no trade deal. That is, India and Pakistan had to agree to an immediate ceasefire for trade with the US.

Congress questioned whether the Indian government compromised national honor for a trade deal? Is foreign policy being conducted in this manner?

Congress Demands - PM Modi Should Clarify in Parliament

Jairam Ramesh has demanded that Prime Minister Modi himself come to Parliament and provide a clear and concrete explanation on this entire matter. He said that for nearly the last 70 days, Donald Trump has been repeatedly claiming to have stopped the conflict between India and Pakistan. In such a situation, remaining silent is not appropriate. Congress says that the government's official position on this matter should be presented before the country and Parliament. If Trump's claims are baseless, then the government should clearly reject them on the international stage.

According to government sources, the Indian government has completely rejected Trump's claims. India says that in May, after provocative actions by Pakistan on the border, the situation was normalized through talks at the Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) level between India and Pakistan.

The government clarified that the US or any third country had no role in any military conflict between India and Pakistan. India has previously clarified that all issues between India and Pakistan are bilateral and mediation by a third country will not be accepted.

Uproar Expected in Monsoon Session

The politics of the country has heated up after Donald Trump's statement. The entire opposition, including Congress, is preparing to raise this issue vigorously in the monsoon session. Congress says that if something like this had actually happened, the government should not have hidden this information from Parliament and the public. Political analysts believe that there could be a heated debate on this matter inside Parliament in the coming days. The government will have to face tough questions from the opposition, and demands for Prime Minister Modi to openly respond to this issue may increase.
