UPSC Aspirant Ramkesh Meena Murdered in Delhi: Live-in Partner Orchestrates Elaborate Cover-up

UPSC aspirant Ramkesh Meena was murdered in Delhi by his live-in partner, Amrita Chauhan, a forensic science student, who meticulously planned an elaborate cover-up to stage an accident.

The murder of UPSC aspirant Ramkesh Meena in the nation's capital has shaken the entire country. This was no ordinary murder, but a heinous crime, meticulously planned and conspired, carried out by his live-in partner and forensic science student, Amrita Chauhan.

CRIME NEWS: The murder of UPSC student Ramkesh Meena in Delhi's Timarpur area, Gandhi Vihar, was executed in an extremely premeditated manner. Investigations revealed that the main accused, Amrita Chauhan, fully leveraged her forensic science studies to erase evidence and employed several tactics to dispose of the body.

Before the murder, Amrita, along with her accomplice Sumit, watched several crime web series to ensure no room for error or the possibility of being caught through evidence. However, all their conspiracies and plans were eventually exposed to the police through mobile phone locations, which unveiled the entire murder mystery.

Death of a UPSC Student or a Premeditated Murder?

The incident occurred in Delhi's Timarpur area, Gandhi Vihar, where 27-year-old Ramkesh Meena, originally from Rajasthan, was preparing for UPSC. Initially, the case appeared to be a death caused by a house fire, but forensic investigation unveiled the entire truth. According to the investigation, Amrita Chauhan committed the murder along with her ex-lover Sumit Kashyap and his friend Sandeep Kumar.

According to the police, Amrita was already present in the flat on the night of October 5, 2025. Around 8:30 PM, Sumit and Sandeep arrived. An argument ensued among the three, after which the accused beat Ramkesh and strangled him. After the murder, the body was laid on the bed, and ghee and refined oil were poured over it. Thick books in the room were stacked one upon another to resemble a 'pyre', and an entire bottle of alcohol was poured over the books.

Sumit, a gas distributor in Moradabad, had complete knowledge of how cylinders worked. He brought a cylinder from the kitchen, placed it near the body, removed the pipe, and allowed the gas to leak slowly. Subsequently, the door was locked from the outside and set on fire to make it appear as if the incident was an accident caused by a gas leak in the house. Both covered their faces before leaving the flat at 2:57 AM. Shortly after, a powerful explosion occurred, and the flat was engulfed in flames. Fire engines arrived at the scene, but by then, fragments of Ramkesh's body were severely burnt.

Investigation Unveils the Truth — It Was Murder, Not an 'Accident'

In the initial investigation, the police considered it a gas cylinder explosion. However, when the forensic team found cylinder fragments in the room instead of the kitchen, suspicions deepened. Subsequently, CCTV footage was reviewed, showing two individuals entering the flat at night and later leaving with their faces covered. Furthermore, the police tracked Amrita's mobile location — which was active inside the flat on the night of the incident. This completely changed the direction of the investigation.

Arrest of Amrita and Sumit

When the police tried to contact Amrita, her mobile phone was continuously switched off. Inspector Pankaj Tomar's team conducted raids at several locations in Moradabad and Delhi. Finally, Amrita was arrested from Moradabad on October 18. Her interrogation revealed the entire truth — the murder, the conspiracy, and the method of destroying evidence. Subsequently, the police also apprehended Sumit Kashyap on October 21 and Sandeep Kumar on October 23.

A Story of Love, Suspicion, and Revenge

Police investigation revealed that Amrita and Ramkesh met in May 2025. Their relationship quickly turned into a live-in arrangement. However, Amrita later discovered that Ramkesh had saved their private videos and photos on a hard disk. Despite repeated requests, when he refused to delete the files, Amrita sought help from her ex-lover Sumit. Both planned the murder and attempted to portray the crime as an "accident."

After the murder, Amrita tried to leave the scene wearing Ramkesh's shirt to reduce suspicion. Then, both took the laptop, hard disk, and other personal belongings and left the flat.
