Uddhav and Raj Thackeray Unite at Marathi Vijay Rally After Two Decades

Uddhav and Raj Thackeray shared a stage at the Marathi Vijay Rally in Worli after nearly 20 years. Supriya Sule also participated in this rally organized to protect the Marathi language and identity.

Maharashtra Politics: A significant turning point has been recorded in Maharashtra's politics today. After nearly two decades, two prominent faces of the Thackeray family – Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray – were seen together on a single stage for the first time. This occasion was the 'Marathi Vijay Rally', organized in support of the Marathi language and identity at the NSCI Dome in Worli, Mumbai.

Glimpses of political unity seen after a long time

This scene was not just a rally, but a symbol of Marathi unity. Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray, who had been on separate political paths for years, were seen sharing a stage today. Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Supriya Sule also participated in this rally. She addressed the public before the main speeches.

Tribute paid at Bal Thackeray's memorial site

Before the rally, both leaders went to the memorial site of their father and Shiv Sena founder, Bal Thackeray, at Shivaji Park and paid their respects. This scene was both emotional and full of political signals. This meeting was not just a stage appearance but a symbol of a shared resolve in the fight for Marathi identity.

What will be the new equation between Shiv Sena and MNS?

Raj Thackeray's Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) and Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) have been on separate paths for years. But recently, both leaders united to protest against the central government's proposed three-language formula. Due to this collective protest, the state government had to postpone the policy. Against this backdrop, sharing this platform is considered not merely symbolic but also strategic.

The strength of Marathi identity was seen in the rally

This rally was presented as "the victory of Marathi unity". Writers, journalists, teachers, artists, and the general Marathi public participated in large numbers in the rally. There was seating for approximately 7,000 to 8,000 people in the NSCI Dome. LED screens were also installed on the outside roads so that more and more people could be a part of this historic moment.

Enthusiasm seen in the leaders' speeches

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut said that it is like a festival day for us. Two leaders, who parted ways years ago, are standing together today for one purpose. He said that this unity is very important to fight against those who stand against Maharashtra.

MNS leader Prakash Mahajan said that this platform will become a symbol of the unity and respect of the Marathi society. He hoped that Marathi identity would get a new direction and the impact of this unity would also be seen in the upcoming elections.

Political experts are connecting this unity with the upcoming BMC elections. BJP MP Narayan Rane and Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Ramdas Kadam called this unity a strategy to maintain political relevance. The absence of some leaders from the opposition camp was also a topic of discussion. Sharad Pawar and Congress leader Harshvardhan Sapkal were invited, but they did not attend the rally.
