Last Updated: 7 hour ago

Upendra Kushwaha is upset over seat-sharing in Bihar NDA. He boycotted the nomination of candidates and has now left for Delhi to meet Home Minister Amit Shah. Tension has increased in the alliance.

Patna: Once again, internal strife has intensified within the NDA in Bihar politics. Upendra Kushwaha, president of the Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal (RLJD), has openly expressed his displeasure over seat sharing. He has announced a boycott of NDA candidates' nominations and has now left for Delhi to directly convey his grievances to Home Minister Amit Shah. This entire development has escalated tensions within the Bihar NDA, and fears of a rift in the alliance are also being expressed.

Increased Strife Over Seat Distribution

Although the announcement of seat sharing in the NDA might have been made in haste, voices of dissatisfaction are now clearly emerging. Amidst the ongoing political stir in Patna, Upendra Kushwaha appeared the most displeased. Changes in the seats allocated to RLMO (Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal) have further fueled this discontent.

According to media reports, Mahua and Dinara seats were initially allotted to RLMO, for which the party had finalized its candidates. However, later the Mahua seat was given to LJP (Ram Vilas) and the Dinara seat to JDU. This change left Kushwaha extremely upset, and he issued an order for party members not to participate in the nomination programs of NDA candidates.

Directive Issued to Party Leaders

RLMO has instructed all its leaders and workers not to participate in the nomination programs of any BJP or NDA candidate. This decision is seen as a direct indication of the deepening discontent within the party.

According to sources, RLMO had already finalized the names of candidates for all six seats and had been officially informed about it. The plan was to give tickets to Deepak Kushwaha, son of Upendra Kushwaha, from Mahua, and Alok Singh from Dinara. However, the sudden change in seat allocation disrupted the entire strategy.

Meeting with Amit Shah Confirmed in Delhi

Upendra Kushwaha had called an emergency meeting at his party office in Patna on Wednesday to discuss future strategy with the NDA. However, he postponed this meeting after receiving a summons from Home Minister Amit Shah.

Kushwaha wrote on social media, "To deliberate with Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah Ji, Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Nityanand Rai Ji and I are to depart for Delhi. Therefore, today's meeting at the party office in Patna is being immediately postponed."

"Nothing is well in NDA": Kushwaha's Big Statement

Speaking to the media, Upendra Kushwaha stated, "Nothing is well in NDA." This statement clearly indicates that all is not normal within the alliance. Kushwaha's remark has not only heated up Bihar politics but has also raised questions about the unity of the NDA.
