Bird Flu Alert: In light of the bird flu threat in Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered increased vigilance throughout the state. This action follows the confirmation of H-5 avian influenza (bird flu) in chickens at a poultry farm in Rampur district. The Chief Minister has directed that surveillance be intensified in all poultry farms, zoological parks, bird sanctuaries, and national parks.
Bird Flu Confirmed in Rampur and Immediate Action Taken
After the unusual death of chickens in Chanden village, Rampur, the Animal Husbandry Department initiated an investigation. Bird flu was confirmed in the samples taken for testing. Following this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, considering the potential severity of bird flu across the state, ordered special precautions to be taken.
Security to be Increased in Zoological Parks and Bird Sanctuaries
The CM stated that security arrangements should be strengthened in all zoological parks, bird sanctuaries, wetlands, and national park areas. Regular and thorough examination of the diet and health of protected animals and birds should be compulsorily conducted. PPE kits should be immediately provided to employees, and they should be given specialized training.
Special Monitoring Necessary in Poultry Farms
The Chief Minister directed that a special monitoring system be established in all poultry farms. Employees living on the farms should be educated about bird flu symptoms, signs of infection spread, and safety measures. This step is crucial to ensure the safety of the poultry industry and consumers.
Review of Potential Impacts on Human Health
Yogi Adityanath instructed the concerned officials to conduct a thorough review of the potential impacts of bird flu on human health. This includes maintaining contact with national institutions and promptly following the safety measures suggested by them.
Contact with National Institutions
The Chief Minister directed all concerned departments to immediately implement all suggestions and guidelines received from national institutions. This will ensure that the risk of infection spread is minimized in any situation, and no harm is caused to human health.
