Uttarakhand to Launch New Portal for Monitoring Land Law Violations
Uttarakhand will establish a new portal to monitor violations of land laws. This portal will maintain an online record of land purchases and sales across 1640 Patwari-Lekhpal areas. District magistrates will submit monthly reports, streamlining the process for industries and investors.
Uttarakhand Land Law: Stricter Enforcement
Uttarakhand is implementing stricter measures against land law violators. A new land portal will closely monitor land transactions. This portal will maintain a comprehensive online record of all land sales and purchases across 1640 Patwari-Lekhpal areas. This will facilitate monitoring of law violations and detect any irregularities in land use.
Benefits of the New Land Portal
Developed in collaboration with the National Informatics Centre (NIC) and operating under the Revenue Council, this portal will regularly update land transaction details across all Patwari-Lekhpal areas in the state. District magistrates will receive monthly reports from sub-district magistrates and submit quarterly reports to the Revenue Council, ensuring compliance with land laws.
New Land Law Regulations
The state government has implemented stricter regulations for land purchase and use. However, the process will be simplified for investors and industries. The aim is to encourage investment in essential sectors such as industry, education, hospitals, and hotels. However, land must be used for its intended purpose; otherwise, the government may reclaim it.
Monitoring Land Purchases and Sales
The new portal will monitor land purchases and changes in land use. It will ensure that land is not misused. Information, including photographs of any land law violations, will be updated on the portal. All Patwaris and Lekhpals will be connected to and monitor this portal.
Changes to be Implemented
The Revenue Department has updated existing regulations through this portal. There will now be a time-bound process for land use changes and purchases. Industries will be required to employ 70% local youth. These changes will prevent fraudulent land sales and boost the state's economic development.
Simplified Process for Investors
Under the new regulations, the process of obtaining necessary certificates, affidavits, and applications for purchasing land for industrial use will be simplified. These changes are aligned with the state government's policies to ensure investors face no difficulties.
