The Mythological Story of the Varaha Avatar

All the gods and sages praised him and urged him to free the Earth. Lord Varaha went into the ocean, lifted the Earth on his tusks, and brought it out. Hiranyaksha challenged him to a battle, in which the demon was ultimately destroyed. After this, Lord Varaha stabilized the Earth by स्तंभित (immobilizing/petrifying) the water with his hooves.
