Varanasi, December 20, 2025 — The Traffic Department today issued a new advisory prohibiting the unnecessary entry of large and heavy vehicles into the city. Under this regulation, heavy vehicles will not be permitted to enter the city limits without a valid reason and prior permission.
Trucks carrying gas cylinders, hydras, highvas, dumpers, JCBs, cranes, and other heavy vehicles will not be allowed to enter the no-entry zone.
Vehicles will only be permitted on city roads between 9 PM and 9 AM.
Prior permission from the ADCP Traffic is mandatory for entry in special circumstances.
According to official sources, this step has been taken in view of the increasing traffic congestion, accidents, and everyday traffic problems caused by heavy vehicles.
Traffic police have also issued several important traffic advisories directing vehicle drivers to drive safely during foggy and hazy weather, including measures such as proper use of lights, lane maintenance, consistent use of indicators, and maintaining an appropriate distance.
Strict action will be taken against vehicles violating the law.
