In Basti district of Uttar Pradesh, workers from Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Rashtriya Bajrang Dal staged a protest outside the DM office on Wednesday, addressing the alleged persecution of Hindus and the issue of population imbalance. The activists had arrived to submit a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but when no official came to receive it, they became angry and began reciting the Hanuman Chalisa within the Collectorate premises.
Accusations of Hindu Persecution Nationwide
During the demonstration, Hindu organizations alleged that Hindus are not safe in any part of the country. Processions are frequently attacked during festivals and religious events, creating an atmosphere of fear and insecurity in society. Citing the recent violent incidents in Murshidabad, West Bengal, and the alleged terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, they stated that these incidents are examples of planned violence against Hindus.
While the protesters were reciting the Hanuman Chalisa on the premises, the administrative officer of the District Magistrate arrived at the scene and received the memorandum. In the memorandum, the organizations demanded that the government ensure the safety of the Hindu community and take strict action against incidents of persecution.
Concerns Expressed Over Population Control and Infiltration
In the memorandum, Hindu organizations also expressed concern over the country's growing population and alleged that illegal infiltration by Bangladeshi and Rohingya Muslims is a major cause. They demanded that such individuals be identified and expelled from the country. The memorandum also stated that the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh is a result of population imbalance.
The organizations also said that alleged conversion gangs like Changur, which are funded by foreign money, are becoming a serious threat to Hindus. They also described the rapid increase in the Muslim population as a threat to social balance. They demanded that the central government strictly enforce population control laws.
The administrative officer assured that the memorandum submitted by the organization would be sent to higher officials and their demands would be considered.
