Wife Strangles Husband in Muzaffarnagar Over Property Dispute

In Muzaffarnagar, Kavita, wife of bank employee Sanjay, strangled him to death out of fear and suspicion of losing property and money to his first wife. Police have arrested Kavita and initiated an investigation into the matter.

Muzaffarnagar: A sensational murder case in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, has sent shockwaves throughout the region. Kavita, the wife of bank employee Sanjay, who resided in Sainik Vihar of Naimandi Kotwali area, has allegedly strangled her husband to death. The police have cracked the case, arrested Kavita, and are continuing their investigation.

The case came to light when Sanjay's family members became suspicious after noticing injury marks on his neck and body. The post-mortem report confirmed that Sanjay died due to strangulation.

Dispute over Property and Money

On the night of July 26, 2025, Sanjay and his family were returning from Shamli. En route, Sanjay and Kavita had an argument over property and giving money to his parents.

Later that night, while everyone was asleep, Sanjay was sleeping on a cot in the verandah. Kavita seized the opportunity and strangled him with a rope, attempting to make the murder look like a suicide. However, Sanjay's son Nishu arrived home, foiling Kavita's plan.

Kavita claimed Sanjay died of a heart attack

After the murder, Kavita informed the family that Sanjay had died of a heart attack. The body was taken to their ancestral village Tanda Majra, Budhana, for the last rites.

However, during the bathing process, the family members became suspicious upon noticing injury marks on his neck and body. Sanjay's father, Bhopal Singh, immediately informed the police, initiating a thorough investigation. The post-mortem report confirmed that Sanjay's death was due to strangulation.

Police Action and Arrest

Naimandi CO Raju Kumar Sav stated that Kavita confessed to the murder during interrogation. She revealed that the fear of losing property to his first wife and children, along with greed, drove her to commit this heinous act.

The police are currently investigating the involvement of other individuals in the case. The CO warned that if anyone else is found to be involved, strict action would be taken against them as well.

Family Demands Justice

Sanjay had three children from his first wife, for whom he continued to provide financial support. Kavita resented this, which led her to commit the horrific act of murder.

This case highlights the tension and greed that arose from family and property disputes. The family of the deceased, Sanjay, is now demanding justice, and the administration is working to expedite the proceedings in the case.
